The QuickBooks Web Connector (QBWC) is a Microsoft Windows application that that enables web services (web-based applications) to exchange data with QuickBooks Desktop products (including QuickBooks Financial Software and QuickBooks Point of Sale). Your web service is deployed in a web server, which may be hosted locally or by a hosting service. Web Connector is installed on the same machine as QuickBooks (or at least on the same local network).

The QBWC is a go-between application that supports passing qbXML and qbposXML between a web-based application and QuickBooks or QuickBooks Point of Sale. Because all communication is initiated by the Web Connector running on the same system as QuickBooks, there is no need to open firewall ports.

For a web service to integrate with Web Connector, it must implement a set of methods that are defined in QuickBooks Web Connector WSDL, These methods allow the web service to communicate with the Web Connector using the same qbXML that the Desktop SDK and POS SDK use.

Adding a new Web service to the list of Web services that QBWC can communicate with is as easy for the user as downloading a file. (Files with a .qwc extension are XML files that describe a Web service designed to interact with QuickBooks and are opened automatically by the QBWC.) Users of Quicken’s online banking features will immediately recognize the user interface, because it was based on the Quicken One Step Update feature.

QuickBooks products supported by Web Connector

The QuickBooks Web Connector 2.1.0.30 and older versions can be used with any QuickBooks desktop product supported by the QuickBooks SDK or the QBPOS SDK, including:

  • U.S. editions of QuickBooks Financial Software products
  • QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions
  • QuickBooks Premier (2002 or later)
  • QuickBooks Pro (2002 or later)
  • QuickBooks Simple Start (2006 or later)
  • Canadian editions of QuickBooks Pro, Premier or Enterprise (2003 or later)
  • UK editions of QuickBooks Pro or Accountant Edition (2003 or later)
  • QuickBooks Point of Sale (v4.0 or later) – QBWC 2.1.0.30 or earlier

QuickBooks Web Connector 2.1.0.30 and older versions only support up to TLS 1.0.

MAPILab POP3 Connector for Exchange allows various companies to solve an actual problem of downloading mail from external POP3 servers and delivering it to Microsoft Exchange Server 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007 in the most effective and simple way. In fact, Microsoft Exchange Server cannot download mail from external POP3 servers but MAPILab POP3 Connector adds such functionality to it.

Program key features:

    • Unlimited number of mailboxes. MAPILab POP3 Connector for Exchange allows to download an unlimited number of messages regardless of the size of your company and a number of mailboxes located on external POP3 servers.

    • Separate setting for each mailbox. The management of mailboxes is carried out separately. It allows you to customize each mailbox taking into account server settings and addressee’s preferences.

  • Support of SSL/TLS. MAPILab POP3 Connector for Exchange allows you to collect mail using a secure SSL/TLS protocol. You can customize the delivery of messages using standard or secure connection for each mailbox. TLS 1.3 / 1.2 / 1.1 / 1.0 protocols are supported.

      • Work with personal and catch-all mailboxes. MAPILab POP3 Connector for Exchange enables you to collect mail from a personal mailbox located on an external POP3 server and delivering it to the specified recipient. Also, the program can download mail from catch-all mailboxes and automatically identify the recipient located on Microsoft Exchange Server.
      • Flexible settings for frequency of mailbox processing. You can set up how often the MAPILab POP3 Connector for Exchange should check the external server for new messages by specifying a period starting from 1 second.
      • Routing rules are used for a flexible search of messages recipients. You can use fields To, CC or Subject as a condition for determining the recipients.

Exchange Connector – POP3 Connector for Exchange

Exchange 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007 & 2003 and
Small Business Server (SBS) 2011, 2008 & 2003

Exchange Connector seamlessly integrates POP3 mailboxes with Microsoft Exchange Server 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007 & 2003, including Small Business Server (SBS) 2011, 2008 & 2003, by downloading mail from the POP3 server and delivering the messages to the appropriate Exchange Server accounts. Exchange Connector is simple to configure, yet a flexible, high-performance, reliable and affordable POP3 connector.

Exchange Connector enables you to:

  • Enjoy the benefits of Exchange without needing to manage a public SMTP server – useful if you don’t have a carrier-grade Internet connection, or otherwise can’t guarantee near 100% uptime
  • Bridge other mail servers with Exchange Server – useful if you need to continue receiving mail from legacy accounts, or you want to continue using your existing mail setup while migrating to Exchange
  • Migrate existing POP3 mailboxes to Exchange with ease – useful to ensure that there are no messages left on the POP3 server when you switch to Exchange

Features

  • New! Support for Exchange 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007 & 2003*, Windows Server 2016, 2012 and 2008 R2, & Small Business Server (SBS) 2011

Exchange Connector has been tested and is fully compatible with Exchange 2019, Exchange 2016, Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2010. The latest version is also compatible with Exchange 2007 & 2003. Separate 32-bit and 64-bit (x64) editions are available (however, licenses are not restricted to a specific platform). *Note that while Exchange Connector can deliver messages to Exchange 2007 or 2003, starting with version 4.0, Exchange Connector must be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 or later. Exchange Connector does not need to be installed on the Exchange Server.

  • Per Server Licensing

Each license is valid for an unlimited number of users. Only one license for each server is necessary. The maximum number of users is limited only by the capacity of the server.

  • Automatic Recipient Detection

When messages are downloaded from a POP3 server, Exchange Connector needs to know which Exchange mailbox to deliver to. This can be achieved either by analyzing the To, Cc and Bcc fields of the message, or by manually selecting one or more delivery mailboxes for each POP3 account.

  • Bulk Import

POP3 mailboxes and all mailbox settings can be bulk-imported from a CSV file.

  • Full Support for Exchange Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam Features

Messages are delivered using SMTP, ensuring full compatibility with anti-spam and anti-virus filters, and processing server-side Exchange rules.

  • SSL/TLS Support (Secure POP)

Also known as POP over SSL/TLS, Secure POP allows encrypted communications with POP3 servers if they support this feature. Secure POP greatly enhances security in a POP3 connector environment. Secure POP is necessary to communicate with Gmail. TLS 1.2 is fully supported.

  • Installation on a Separate Server

Exchange Connector can be installed either on the Exchange Server machine, or another machine on the network. Each installation of Exchange Connector connects to a single Exchange Server.

  • Runs as a Windows Service

You don’t need to leave a user always logged on to the server – Exchange Connector runs in the background as a Windows NT service. When the computer is restarted, the service automatically restarts, ensuring continued delivery of mail.

  • Flexible Download Interval

Messages are periodically downloaded from the POP3 servers at an interval configurable from as low as 1 minute to as high as 1 hour.

  • Off-Peak Bandwidth Saver

Can be configured to download only during specified hours, e.g. between 9AM-5PM Monday-Friday, to save bandwidth during times when users do not need to access their mailboxes.

  • Multiple Users Per Mailbox

Each POP3 mailbox can deliver to multiple Exchange users or distribution groups.

  • Leave Messages on Server

Messages can be left on the POP3 server indefinitely, or for a period of up to 90 days.

  • Folder Delivery

Messages are delivered to a folder in the file system as EML files, to maintain an archive of all messages sent and received. Messages are sorted by POP3 server and POP3 mailbox.

  • Download Mail Now Button

“Download Mail Now” button allows the user to force immediate downloading of all mail, even outside normal download hours when the Off-Peak Bandwidth Saver feature is used.

  • Server Message View

The Server Message View feature allows you to see which messages are currently stored on the POP3 server, avoiding the hassle of temporarily configuring an Outlook client for POP3 access.

  • APOP Command Support

Automatic support for the APOP command ensures that passwords are not sent in plain text when not using SSL, with POP3 servers that support the feature. For maximum compatibility, Exchange Connector will fall back to plain text authentication if APOP authentication fails. You can also choose to manually disable APOP.

  • Outbound Connection Limiting

Limit the number of outbound connections provides for maximum support with firewalls.

  • SQL Server Logging

All POP3, SMTP and file I/O operations can be logged to a SQL Server database (including free SQL Server Express). For information on setting up SQL Server Logging, see the Knowledge Base Article.

  • Comprehensive Error Reporting

Delivery failure reports and program errors can be emailed to an administrator, logged to the event log and the SQL Server database, and optionally emailed to Quantum Software Solutions for bug reporting.

What are the 3 types of software?

--Computers are managed by software. Software may be divided into three categories: system, utility, and application.

What is the difference between download and install?

--The act of "downloading" a file is distinct from "installing" it. Instructions to utilize the downloaded data to modify your computer are "installing" the file. The file does not alter or be updated if installation is not performed.

What is software used for?

--Software is a collection of instructions, data, or computer programs used to run machines and carry out certain activities. It is the antithesis of hardware which refers to a computer external components. A device running programs, scripts, and applications are collectively referred to as "software" in this context.
