Little admin tool helps you to search for files or directories from or up to a specified size, and to find files that are too big or whichs file name is too long. Typical Use Cases Case 1 – Finding very big files on your servers Often if a system runs out of disk space an administrator wants to know which files or directories on the computer consume the most space. To find out you can let Find2Bix search for files and/or directories which are over a specified size. Case 2 – Finding file names that are too long Another use of Find2Bix is to help you to avoid “over-long” file names. Under Windows up to Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 it is still possible to create a file name that exceeds the path to that file over the allowed maximum of 258 characters. This has the uneasy side effect that you cannot access these files anymore until the path or file names are shortened again. To avoid these kind of files to stay undiscovered and disturb the users work you should run Find2Bix periodicly on your file system to find your “inaccessible” files.
